NY Drone Zone uses FAA Certified Remote Pilots trained in UAS roof inspection. Before accepting any assignment, we first check the airspace authorization for the location of the project.  If the area is in restricted airspace, we can apply for a waiver with the FAA but this, of course, would take more planning.  It can take up to three months to get a waiver.

Once the site has been approved for a UAS flight, a project manager performs a perimeter scan for hazardous obstacles and completes an equipment inspection on each drone before any flight.  Safety equipment is used when necessary, and all our drones are equipped with obstacle avoidance sensors. Most projects are performed with a remote pilot and a visual observer to ensure safety.
